What It Is

CPP HF Heat-Press & Transfer Film

A single-layer Cast Polypropylene (CPP) film placed on TPU surfaces during high-frequency (HF) heat-press and hot-cut. It does double duty as both a protective layer and a transfer carrier — protecting the TPU and mold while carrying the logo shape from the HF die onto the fabric in one step.

Songyang supplies this film as a ready-to-use consumable for garment, footwear and trademark converters that run HF TPU transfer day in, day out. Also known in the trade as high-frequency protective film, HF transfer film, TPU heat-press film or thermal-transfer carrier film — different names, same CPP single-layer film for HF TPU work.

Why It Is Used

Three Jobs, One Film

1 · Protect the TPU and the die

HF heat-press TPU runs at 120–180 °C. Pressing TPU straight onto the die risks sticking, scorching and ragged edges. A CPP layer separates the two — protecting the TPU surface, the tooling and the yield.

2 · Act as the transfer carrier (the key job)

The film is both shield and carrier. When the die presses the logo shape, the pattern transfers first onto the CPP film; that film then carries the logo to the garment or shoe upper in the second press. Without this film, the transfer step breaks.

3 · Cut loss, raise throughput

Running without the film means sticking and rework. The right single-layer CPP stabilizes the process, lowers scrap and keeps continuous production moving — a consumable every HF shop lines up as standard.

Material Choice

Why a CPP Single-Layer Film, Not PE or a Composite

  • Temperature match: a CPP single-layer film is rated 120–150 °C as standard and up to 180 °C for special grades — covering the HF window without melting through on hot-cut.
  • Uniform gauge: the single-layer structure is more even than a composite, so HF shops get steadier heat-press and higher yield.
  • Cleaner transfer: balanced surface tension and release let the film peel off cleanly, giving sharper transfer than ordinary PE film.

Unit Notes

Thickness is shown in C (a gauge unit), where 1 C = 0.01 mm = 10 µm — so 8C = 0.08 mm and 10C = 0.10 mm. Tack is given as a grade (low / medium / high) rather than a single peel-force number; tell Songyang's sales team your machine and process and the right grade is matched.

How It Works

Two Transfers, One Film

Our film combines the protective layer and transfer carrier in a single step — simpler than the conventional "positioning film + hot-melt adhesive film" approach.

1 · Film on TPU

The CPP film is applied onto the TPU surface as protection and carrier.

2 · HF die press

The mold presses the logo/pattern shape by high-frequency; film needs no plate-making.

3 · First transfer (TPU → film)

The shaped TPU transfers onto the film, carrying the logo form.

4 · Laminate to fabric

The film+TPU is placed on the fabric and pressed a second time.

5 · Second transfer & peel

The shape transfers film → fabric; peel the film to finish.

FAQ

Common Questions

Who is Songyang and where is your CPP high-frequency heat-press film factory?
Dongguan Songyang New Material Technology Co., Ltd. is a China-based manufacturer of specialty adhesive tapes and protective films, based in Houjie, Dongguan, Guangdong. Songyang has worked in the industry since 1998 — 28 years — and operates a 9,000+ m² facility with 16 production lines, 5,000+ product specifications and 5,600+ customers served. Songyang produces CPP high-frequency heat-press film at this Dongguan plant and supplies it to garment, trademark and heat-transfer converters worldwide.
Is this a TPU film or a CPP film?
Songyang's product is a CPP (Cast Polypropylene) film, not a TPU film. Dongguan Songyang New Material Technology Co., Ltd. makes a CPP protective and transfer film that is placed on the TPU surface during the high-frequency heat-press step; the TPU is the base material being processed, while the film itself is CPP and acts as both protection and transfer carrier.
What is CPP high-frequency heat-press film used for?
Songyang's CPP film is used on TPU surfaces during high-frequency heat-press and hot-cut processes — typically garment embossing, logo heat-press and 3D TPU trademarks. It protects the TPU surface and carries the transferred shape in the same step.
What temperature range does it withstand?
Songyang's standard CPP high-frequency film works at 120–150 °C, and special grades are engineered for up to 180 °C under high-frequency heat-press conditions. Confirm your process temperature with Songyang's sales team so the right grade is quoted.
Do I need a printing plate for the film?
No — with Songyang's CPP film the logo or pattern shape is formed by the high-frequency die or mold, so the film itself requires no plate-making. This simplifies the process compared with the common two-step route of a separate positioning film plus a hot-melt adhesive film.
Can the film be customized to my machine and product?
Yes — Songyang tailors thickness, width, roll length and tack to your high-frequency machine and end product; the film is supplied in transparent and matte only, so color is not a customization variable. Share your specs with Songyang's sales team and a matching grade will be proposed.
What are the sample and production lead times?
Samples typically take 5–30 days depending on the specification — consult Songyang's sales team for the exact schedule on your model. Bulk production then runs on 16 lines at Songyang's Dongguan plant, with the timeline confirmed in your quotation.
How do I get a quotation, and what information should I send?
Email sales@0769songyang.com or message Songyang on WhatsApp with your specification, quantity and any printing or packaging requirements. Songyang replies with a quotation and a technical suggestion, usually within 24 hours, and ships to B2B buyers worldwide from Dongguan, China.
Is the CPP film available in custom colors?
No — Songyang supplies this film in transparent and matte only. For high-frequency TPU transfer the logo shape is set by the HF die, not by the film color, so two finishes cover virtually all processes. Tell Songyang's sales team if a special finish is required.
